After quite sometime your Windows Xp normally tend to become slow. Mostly due to miscellaneous services that get installed with time, making your PC slow. But there is a cool registry trick that makes shutting down a breeze.
Did you know that Windows XP keeps a couple of values in its registry which determines how long to wait before shutting down open applications and services once the shutdown command has been given . All you need to change those values, here how its done.
Step 1
- Open regedit and goto ‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\’
- Select the ‘WaitToKillAppTimeout’ value.
Custom From Address to send from Gmail

Gmail has a really cool feature, Gmail’s custom ‘From:’ feature lets you send messages that display another address. As i also have to deal with day to day emails coming to my website email, its really cumbersome to email from my hosting email application(buggy as hell).

- Log in to your Gmail account at mail.google.com.
- Now head over to the settings and open the Accounts tab.
- Under Send mail as, click Add another email address.
Sony Offers Free PS3 With Purchase of an HDTV in the US

Just few days back i checkout some blogs and came to know Sony Australia would dish out a free Playstation 3 with a purchase of any Bravia 1080p LCD TV. Now Sony has gave something to cheer for the people in the states but with some basic changes.

Before purchasing a Sony HDTV you either should already have a SonyCard or have to apply for a new one. All in all a fantastic deal, a Sony HDTV and a PS3….Wow thats what you call New years present. Better hurry though, the promotion ends on Dec. 31st.Now lets see what Microsoft gono offer…….two Xbox 360’s on the purchase of one.
iPhone firmware 1.1.3 leaked?

Apple always seems to be in the news…..Why not when you got the Jesus phone? News follows you. According to Gear Live, they got a sneak peak at Apple’s iPhone latest unreleased firmware, 1.1.3 .

Possible features includes sending SMS to multiple recipients, springboard (home screen) supports reordered icons and pagination, as well as bookmarks. Besides that Google maps gets hybrid view and a GPS less based location system (a la Google My Location). If I ain’t wrong Steve plans to announce at Macworld next month.

How to Make Vista Style Tab Previews for Firefox Tabs

Apart from the cool features that comes with Vista… even the scary ones. Vista is a really great looking OS, especially the taskbar thumbnail previews. Now what about the same feature for your Firefox’s tabs…la Opera tab thumbnails.

Well you could use the Tab Scope extension for a similar feature, with fully customizable options. Whenever you hover your mouse over a tab, a popup thumbnail preview of the page you’re browsing. One interesting thing is that, you could actually inside the thumbnail itself, all the links are clickable besides you can even use the scroll button inside the thumbnail.
