“Clean Install” possible now with Vista Upgrade DVDs

This is one hell of a news for people, who have bought Vista upgrade DVD. All hope was lost few days back, but a workaround proposed by Paul Thurrott (via Microsoft internal documents) has confirmed it that its possible.

On Monday we reported that using Microsoft Vista upgrade DVD you won’t be able to do a clean install without going through some hassles.

Microsoft internal documentation reveals workaround for Vista Upgrade DVDs with no need for a previous version of Windows.With the new licensing policy for Vista by Microsoft users are required to install Vista Upgrade from within XP.If you install it via Xp then your XP license gets invalidated after that the actual Vista installation gets underway.

GeForce 8800 Owners don’t have drivers for Vista

Nvidia 8800 after getting their hands on Vista might be feeling hard done by Nvidia. Nividia hasn’t yet released final drivers for Vista(still in beta), many people have reported that Vista isn’t able to recognize their GFX card, thus Vista reverting to the VGA drivers, disabling all eye candy of Vista’s new Aero interface. Nvidia shame on you can’t start your flagship cards, ATi might be really giggling at this. Hello!! Nvidia get your act together.

Before India goes 3G, China Goes 4G

In INdia we have not been introduced to 3G phones and technology yet. And so is China, the Chinese mainland is still to get 3G i.e. the Third Generation Phones.

While on the other hand a district in China i.e. Sanghai has launched 4G and is on trial.

The world’s first fourth-generation (4G) mobile communication system was officially launched yesterday in Shanghai’s Changning District after a field trial was conducted in October.

The home-grown 4G system provides speeds of up to 100 mbps in wireless transmission of data and images many times faster than that of current mobile technology.

Intel Core 2 Extreme leaps into your Laptops

Gamers that love gaming on laptops, you might just consider saving. Intel’s Core 2 Extreme processors are going to make a leap into your laptops. The all the new Merom XE codename cores the X7800 and X7900 will clock at 2.6GHz and 2.8GHz respectively. Both will sport 4mb of L2 cache with a 800Mhz FSB. Intel haven’t yet reviled their pricing policy, but the X7800 is expected to be around $795. This chips might ship in the Q2 and Q3, show dudes start saving.
