Seagate’s Hard-drive world’s fastest at 15k

                      Seagates Hard drive worlds fastest at 15k

 In CES 2007 Sharp unveiled the worlds largest LCD at 108 inches, else where Hitachi's 3.5 inch hard drive packed in a full tera byte. Now Seagate had just  what it claims to be the "world's fastest hard drive" Seagate's new Savio 15k with seek time of mere 2.9ms seems quite true. The new Savvio 15k offers various advantages over standard 15k 3.5 inch drives, this includes size, weight, simply because of the 2.5inch form factor, power consumption has also decreased to around 5.8watts when idle compared to 8.4 watts consumed by most desktop drives, also with the reliability of estimated (1.6 million hour MTBF).

  The new drive is shipping through OEM consumers in 36 and 73 GB capacities. HP are shipping this drives with their Proliant server systems. The toned down version the Savvio 10K.2 drive will launch in the channel this quarter as a replacement product for Savvio 10K.1 and upgradation path form there Cheetah 10K.7 drives.
