Sharp doesn't seems stopping when it comes to mega-pixels sensors, they have already busted out 10- and 12-mega-pixel sensors for ultra compacts, they have achieved to make it more compact with its latest 8.28-mega-pixel 1/2.5-inch CCD rendition  The company achieved the resolution "using the 1.75 μm x 1.75 μm pixel cell, which is claimed as is the industry's smallest class," thats 60% less than the previous model from Sharp. Maybe they are hoping to cram this tiny things into mini cams of the future.
