8. Arhah!!! It all begins only with this FW...

But before we jump at getting that N73 through its paces, one thing we wanna make it clear. If you perform this update or hack whatever you say this voids your warranty and you risk damaging your phone. If that happens Nokia won’t take any liabilities for that, ofcourse if you can act dumb with the service personal you might get a new one.

Enough chit chat lets get our hands dirty. Lets First you gono need to download Nemesis Service Suite and the latest Nokia Software Update.

  1. Connect your phone and wait for the Windows to install the drivers.
  2. Open Nemesis Service Suite and click “Scan for new device” on the right-upper part of the window
  3. Click on the icon “Phone info”
  4. Click on “Scan”
  5. Change the product code to 0539343 and mark the case “Enable”.
  6. Press “Write”, and your phone’s product code will be changed (you might think that nothing happened, because the phone is still in normal mode, and the changing of the product code only takes a couple of seconds, but don’t worry, the product code changed !).
  7. Close Nemesis Service Suite and run the Nokia Software Update.
  8. Make sure not to touch the cable or the phone while your phone is updating or else you will break it!

9.That’s it! When you restart your phone, it should now be the Nokia N73 Music Edition!

Now lets rock with the Nokia N73 Music Edition. Happy hacking.

Did you touched the cable or any other things during updating.

We even tried it, it went properly.

Also if your PC might have been firewalled. Try the procedure again. Also try to give a full report what steps did you did before that problem occurred.

    Try this sites.

Holding the Green(call key) 3, & * Key, while powering on the phone didn’t work (might b worth keeping the sim out when doing this), so i guess the NSU does screw up really bad sometimes, it can work, or fail with current os unchaged or fail with no OS.

    Hey try the process altogether.

    You may try this!!

Go to Menu > Tools > Settings > Phone > General > Phone Language,You should get some different language options!

There is also another setting under Phone Language called, “Writing Language”. You can change from there. Try it

    Success!!:-)
I updated my spanking new N73 to the OZ version (0539349) edition of the Music Edition and changed the product back to its original state using NSS.
Its been working fine ever since apart from not being able to close the bloomin music player.
For whatever reason, I googled the best way to do this is to change the album art (By selecting download) and then the exit button(Effectivley for the browser), shuts off the player.
H*u*S*K*A - Yes You can download games, I downloaded Space Impact from within my N73’s Browser.
Its a smart phone any Symbian OS9 compatible program should work not.. but don’t quote me on it ;-)

IMPORTANT : PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR PROFILE IS SET TO GENERAL BEFORE YOU UPDATE YOUR PHONE’S FIRMWARE.

I researched thoroughly through google and found that this is the most effective way to update the phone successfully.

For those who have faced problems, you’re not alone. Just research through Google and there are ways to restore your original firmware.

In worst case scenarios, you may have to go back to Nokia’s service desk for restoring the firmware thereby voiding your warranty!!
