Nvidia G80

Nvidia after showing their budget 8800cards, now Nvidia is prepping up for their next killer graphics cards the 8950 GX2 and the 8900GTX. You heard it! the 8950 GX2 just like the 7950GX2, got dual G80 GPUs based on a new 80 nanometer G80 chip. Both the GPU’s are clocked at 550MHz and comes with 2×512MB of 256-bit GDDR4 memory. The memory is clocked at a smoking 2000MHz(Yes 2GHZ) and features 96 Shaders, each chip. The 8950 GX2 is approximately priced at $600.

While the scaled down 8900 GTX gets a single GPU clocked at 700MHz, the memory clocked at 2200MHz.The same 80 nanometer chip that powers the GX2 and comes with 128 Shaders. The chip still got that 384-bit memory interface with 768MB memory. The 8900GTX priced somewhere around $550.

Well we got all the ingredients for a messy competing or price wars from both ATI and Nvidia. ATI got some serious catching up too do. Get that X2800XTX if you can!
