AMD will finally debut the R600 as ATI Radeon X2900 XTX on March 30, 2007. The X2900 XTX will come out in two separate offerings: one for OEMs and another for retail. We did a article on the R600 few days back and you would know the OEM version is the full length 12″ card and are exclusive to some high end system dealers.
The X2900 XTX retail card on the other hand is a two slot, 9.5″ design with a vapor chamber cooler. The vapour chambers are high end coolers that normally are CPU coolers but this time it got to the GPU market too. The OEM version has a much quieter cooler.

The OEM and the retail Radeon X2900 XTX will get 1GB GDDR4 memory each. Besides this their will be GDDR3 versions coming the next month. This card named as the Radeon X2900 XT features 512MB of GDDR3 and lower GPU frequencies than the X2900 XTX. Now has the time come both ATI and Nvidia go head to head with their flagship cards, lets see gets to be the top dog!
