Have you ever seen bitter reviels embrassing each other’s stuff. Well AMD does the opposite. AMD announces a chipset that can run on Intel processors! Yes f@#king Intel? Now this is something we never expected, after all why would AMD make chipsets or any other technology for its worst enemy. I dont have any idea!
But lets take a look at the chipest itself. Its based on the RS690 and its Xpress 1250 graphic core can run Vista Aero as smooth as you would want too. The chipest supports processors ranging from the Intel Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Extreme, Intel Pentium 4, Pentium D, Pentium Extreme Edition, Celeron, and Celeron D and Front Side Bus (FSB) speeds of 533, 800, and 1066MHz. It can guzzle upto 16GB memory and has a 128-bit dual channel memory interface. It got inbuilt video acceleration like Enhanced MPEG-2 hardware decode acceleration which dramatically decreases CPU uses and also supports H.264 acceleration.
The chipest also supports DVI/HDMI outs, HDCP 1.1, multiple displays, 10 USB 2.0 ports, ATA Gen 2 PHY support at 3.0GHz,four ports SATA AHCI controller with support for NCQ and slumber modes, you keep on counting there’s more. Hey its also capable of going to mobile platforms.
