
Samsung is always first when it comes to showcasing something latest(world’s first). The Samsung’s MH80 is the worlds first hybrid Hard drive. This hybrid hard drive was in development since 2003 alongsides Microsoft’s new operating system(Vista). The extra flash memory helps reduce power consumption & about 50% quicker OS bootups using Microsoft’s ReadyDrive software. Also fellows your electricity bills will be much lighter on the pocket. The drive expected to consume 70% to 90% less power than traditional rotating storage drives.
“The MH80 hybrid hard drive provides the ideal solution for two major issues that notebook PC users continually face: faster boot and resume performance and extended battery life,” said Albert Kim, a Samsung national sales manager, in a statement.
The Samsung MH80 Series drives will be shipped in 80-Gbyte, 120-Gbyte, and 160-Gbyte capacities. The onboard Flash memory will be available in 128-Mbyte or 256-Mbyte capacities.
