Just to let you know I wouldnt rely on this list… Cuz dungoen keeper 1 doesn’t work at all on vista.. We have tried every option out there.. like dosbox going through the advan settings.. and numerous other things and nothing works

you should put in 32bit, although 64bit is better and most games with 32bit WILL work on a 64bit, it is possible (especially with vista) that not all games will be compatible.

Does anyone knows why in gothic 3 i keep getting this wierd windows called “where is the guru” with a memory exception with a hexadecimal adress? i’ve guessed that is for the massive usage of ram required by the game in fact every time it happens i’m forced to kill the process and i notice that use over 1.5 gigs of ram… i’m totaly buyng new module in order to get to 4 gigs total but in your opinion does it solve my problem with this misterious “guru windows”? i love the game and i hate to quik save every 5 min….

Alby, can’t say why it’s happening to you, but I can say I’m playing it right now, too, and I have 4G RAM and DON’T get any error messages from the game. It runs perfectly for me. If you’re running on 2G, I’d say that adding memory would help with your problem, though.*wink*

I have a new HP with 64 bit Vista running. X3 : Reunion was listed as a game that would run on a 64 bit, but I have been unable to get it to run. Does anyone have any info or tips on hao I might be able to run this game? I thought I might try running it as the adminitrator but I am not sure how to do that.
I cant get ‘The Movies’ to work on my computer i keep getting a runtime error, it is one of the games listed to be compatible with vista… does anyone have any tips on how to get this to work?

Lords of Magic prepatch loads and runs on Vista.
Strangely, there are treasure items not found at all in the patched version, like potions that permanently boost dexterity or strength.
However, the patch itself does not run – Vista’s dialogue box informs me I need an x86 version of the file.
I re-installed the game in the user directories in case it had something to do with permissions to overwrite files in protected areas – Vista is still a strange bird – but the same result happened when I tried to run the patch. Using the compatibility settings and running under admin had the same results as well.
If anyone has solved this, I’d love to hear how. Thanks.

I guess I am very old fashoned. There are some very old games that I loved to play. Yeah, they dont have the speed and action that the new ones do, but my old eyes and hands don’t coordinate that well. I am trying to find out if there are ways to play the Sid Meier’s Pirates, Railroad Tycoon, and Civilization II, Test of Time games on vista machines. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

ok then. but some of these games aren’t on it like the sims. there compat. and mortal kombat( though its old ), and some more. i dnt remmber the names. when you’re gonna biuy games l, no prob. just look for vista. when ur dloding, always check with for vista or vista in bracket on ur browser. try this with all ur games you wanna put on ur vista. even if theyre xp. sometimes they’re some newer vista compat. version out

Quake 4 runs well on 32/64 Vista. you dont need patch 1.3 any versions works :)

Howard, X3 reunion will not run in windows vista, manufacturers aree trying to develop new patch and or re issue vista compatable. Jonjo.

i would like to say that i have need for speed:road challenge working fine along with deus ex, sims1, sims2, singles, swat 2 & swat 3 all working in windows vista home basic, though sim city 4 installed fine but, it will not play. However, i have not tried compatibilty stuff as of yet, as i forgot about it until today.
dungeon keeper one and two dont work on my 64 bit no matter what i do, also does any1 know how to get lords of the realm 3 working?
LMK if you get ‘em working, I couldn’t get them to run on XP, let alone Vista! LOVE the DK games!
