Intel Xeon 5300 series processors which already consumes 50% less power compared to 5100 series (which was released last year) becomes much less power hungry. Intel made a big leap by further reducing 35%-60% less electricity than existing 5300 series that consume. Now the new quad core processors Xeon L5320 and L5310 consumes less power than existing 5300 series which uses 80-120 watts.
Xeon L5320 operates at 1.86 GHz and the L5310 at 1.60 GHz with over a 8MB of on-die cache for faster memory data communication. L5320 is priced at US$519 and the L5310 at $455.
