We often see in science fictions, people wearing goggles/spectacle which can do all kinds of stuffs like gaming, mobile, i.e. calling, watching movies, hearing songs and many other great facilities.

Just assuming you have this thing, in your hands! Would you like to wear it the whole day? O.K. at least at times when you have to call or watch a movie? No, I don’t think we would like to wear this type of thing. I would better stick to my cellphone, or may be the iPhone ;)!

There might be many companies who are planning something like this, but I would say that, they are wasting their time. People won’t be interested in this. Yes, people may want to get rid of what they are using at present. We really want to get rid of taking out the phone from the pocket and then attend the call. There is something which can prove that people don’t like to take out the phones from the pocket.

That something is the headset. We don’t even like to have a wire from the ear to the pocket. thats why, Bluetooth headsets are also popular.

There are some problems which i feel exists in the goggles mentioned above. Some, which I thought should be posted here so that may help the companies in their step towards the future.

Firstly, make it small and slim, but not as slim as a tissue paper ;). I think it should be somewhat resembling the present Bluetooth headset. Instead of the glasses, it should be able to create a virtual screen.

Then, it should not run on voice commands or deadly buttons. Rather, it should be able to understand brain impulses. It should response on our thought. Hey, hey! don’t think it is impossible because sometime ago, I was reading a newspaper and had read that some university has been able to make a machine that can respond to our thought. I had read that at the demonstration of the ‘machine’, the guy said hello in this thought and it was typed on the screen.

One major problem which exists in this type of goggles gadgets is that, suppose you are using it, you loose a type of contact from the world. When we watch T.V., and someone passes beside us, we sometimes don’t notice him/her. And again, when we hear songs on a walkman, we can’t hear whats someone is saying. Now, if both these things come together? You can’t see anything, and since the speakers would be in your ears, just forgot about the voice from the world.

Now what are you thinking? What this gadget is going to be? Don’t think about it! Hey, I am not saying this to the inventors or designers. You are the guys who shape the future. So, please think about it, and give us something really wonderful.
