Yet another interesting feature revealed by Google on Google Maps called ‘My Maps’. Using My Maps users can share knowledge about their neighborhoods and other places in the form of customized maps. Now you can Mark your favorite places on your map, Draw lines and shapes to highlight paths and areas, Add your own text, photos, & videos, Publish your map to the web or Share your map with friends and family. Now by searching the local place will throw you a relevant information about the location.

Initially My Maps will be available in US, also national version of Google will be available in nine other countries like Australia, France, Britain, Italy, Japan, Germany, Canada, Spain and Netherlands.
