MS Silverlight - First Rival Of Flash

When Adobe thought there is no one in the ring against Flash, Microsoft brought in their player Silverlight as a competitor. Silverlight is a plug-in for browsers that enables designers & developers to use their skill to make visual content for users. Silverlight is supported for both Macintosh & Windows with browsers like IE, Firefox and Safari. Designers & Developers can use tools like Microsoft Expression Studio & Visual Studio respectively to create the content based on .Net Framework.

Silverlight also uses Windows Media Video (WMV) & implementation of VC-1 video standard (which is the format used in HD DVD & Blu-ray) to provide the high definition quality of videos through the internet of size small or full screen.
