Airtel To Launch IPTV

Bharti Airtel after attaining a strong foothold in the Broadband Market is now all set to jump into the Television Broadcasting Industry with IPTV.

MTNL(Mahanagr Telephone Nigam Limited) has already launched IPTV long back but its not kicking up because of very few channels being available. Its well known that traditional cable vendors are being removed from the NCR(National Capital Region) and set top boxes are being made mandatory or you can go for DTH(Direct to Home Services). These rules have already been implemented in Mumbai and South Delhi and soon this will be implemented in whole NCR.

So Bharti is trying to take advantage of this situation and is gonna launch IPTV by end of 2007. Testing of this service has already begun in about 100 houses in Gurgaon area of NCR.

This is a very strategic move made by Bharti and there are full chances that they will establish a strong foothold given the fact that they are providing top notch Broadband services at very reasonable prices and people trust them. And maybe they’ll put up special Combo offers having both Broadband and IPTV in one package at an unbeatable price!!!
