Mozilla updated the release schedule of Firefox 3 and you can expect the first Beta version by July 31, with Beta 2 version scheduled for September 2007.
Firefox 3 will be bundled with some new features like
* Bookmarks will be called as Places (I didn’t like the name) with built-in sync (just as Foxmarks).
* New User Interface.
* Scanning downloaded files through third party anti-virus.
* You can able to save web pages as PDF (kewl!).
* Improved print layout adjustments.
* Animated PNG (APNG) image support.
* XML documents rendered as downloaded instead of waiting for complete download.
* New Password Manager.
And lot of other features to be bundled. Hope it doesn’t utilize much resource though. You can download Firefox 3 Alhpa 3 from here

I’d have to agree with you over “places”. But i’d prefer that then use IE.
