The Settlers: Rise Of An Empire Trailer
Ubisoft announced that the next series of The Settlers will be released in September 2007. This is the sixth in the series from Blue Byte developers, after The Settlers: Heritage Of Kings. The new Settlers will also include the map editor, though The Settlers: Heritage Of Kings didn’t become so popular hope ‘Rise Of An Empire’ make the series stand up again. Microsoft announced a profit of 67 percent high on Thursday breaking the walls of expectation, thanks to its Windows Vista Operating System. With the news of its $4.93 billion profit, shares of Microsoft rose to 5%. The consumer sales of Vista surpassed the expectation of $100 million to $400 million (phew! thats four times much).
AOL launched its Indian version portal with some sections for indians like Bollywood, Cricket, etc. related to India. AOL launched the site in a mission to take over the world, they offer same features as on US site like messenger, mobile service & email. AOL said that India has over 45 million internet users compared to 1 billion of total population & it will double by 2008 and a whooping three times by 2010. AOL India will have many free services like that of US portal, but said they will earn with advertising sales.
A dual gift from Yahoo! India to Indians, they have launched new Beta service called ‘Yahoo! Our City’ & ‘Yahoo! Maps’ for India. With Yahoo Our City users can now explore 19 cities of India and get the information of the locations, hotels, weather, events, news, etc. few of the cities include Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata. Soon other cities will also be included.


Wikipedia announced a CD version of its knowledge pool, though only 2000 articles will be put in the CD but with higher quality articles edited by volunteers. Wikipedia now has over a 1.7 million articles, but the CD version will feature only 2000 articles of which geography, literature & few other topics are covered. The version of CD is Wikipedia 0.5 and may go ahead by releasing other versions in future. Activision confirmed that it has been working on Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare & said will show the video on ESPN in the weekend. It is rumored that COD4 will no longer be a World War II game, but you get to deal with the modern world terrorists who plan to unleash biological war.
It is also rumored that players get to play as US Marines, S.A.S or US Army and the battle takes place in London, Middle East, Eastern Europe & North Atlantic. Sounds kewl… chemical weapons, fantastic locations, what else this game got?
