Sun Microsystems has announced that it is making some more portion of the Java available to the open source community. Early last year Sun Microsystems has announced to open source Java under General Public License (the code was available by November 2006) in JavaOne conference & now the second version of the License the open source community has got the control over Java Standard Edition platform.
Now they are working on Java 2D graphics technology, which infact has gone into some legal issues and they have asked the open source community to help regarding this. However Sun will offer plugins for Java technology until they are ready with rewritten code that is used by the open source community.
