Intel brings out Santa Rosa

Intel announced its next generation Santa Rosa Centrino platform. Intel Centrino was introduced 4 years ago. They have improved virtually all aspects of Intel-based notebooks.

Theres a new feature included with Santa Rosa, which is known as Intel Turbo Memory- formerly known as Robson. The chipset which is used with Santa Rosa is the Intel Mobile 965 Express also known as PM965.

Intel brings out Santa Rosa

It supports 10 USB 2.0 connections, three 3Gbps SATA ports, GbE and six PCIe x1 lanes. ICH8M also supports Intel Active Management Technology 2.5 (AMT 2.5).
For notebooks not using graphics from ATI or Nvidia, theres another solution- GMA X3100 IGP. The GPU of X3100 is clocked at 500MHz and supports Windows Vista Aero Glass.
