It seems like the largest of the companies have gone mad seeing the success of Orkut, the social networking site. Orkut has had undoubtedly a great deal of success. If we go to some cyber cafe, we can be sure that at least one person will be using Orkut at that point of time.
Not few days ago, Reliance had launched its own social networking site called BigAdda.com. And now here comes Sony with one more, the Vaio Nation. Here users will be able to create individual pages and blogs which will be including their own films or music to be voted by other members of the community.
The website says, “Vaio nation helps users Connect directly with each other, through blogs. The most popular clips will be featured in the ‘Vaio Nation Charts’ (HYPE), providing a real opportunity for anyone to get noticed. Here users will also find the best tunes and videos that Vaio Nation has to offer.” It will be a free online community which has been specificaly designed to showcase the film and music talent accross the world.
The “Viao Nation” is also going to have news, reviews and comment about the content, from Sony’s in-house writers and critics. Several artists, including Norman Jay MBE and Bafta-winning film director Daniel Mulloy are already involved with Vaio Nation, from the world of Film and Music. Future plans include sections on fashion and design.
