The most acclaimed Xbox 360 game has made it to big screen, yes Gears of War movie in 2009. New Line Cinema has brought the rights of Gears of War and the producers are Mary Bowen & Wyck Godfrey (who brought us movies like I, Robot, Alien vs. Predator, Eragon). At present the script is in work & you can expect the movie by Summer 2009.
