Last Tuesday, Sony unveiled its all new AVCHD burner- the VRD-MC5. So far Sony has already released 7 AVCHD camcorders, but it was very necesarry to release a burner. It’s the first burner in their line of DVDirect models which is able to support this new format.
The VRD-MC5 comes with a 2.5″ LCD, navigation controls, a pretty large burn button, compact flash, and a card slot for MemoryStick. It records various formats including DVD, HDD, DV, and Digital8. But unfortunately, it has no video output and hence it cant be used as a home DVD player.
The VRD-MC5 will be available in Japan from August 10th, but theres no word on pricing yet.
