Toshiba’s launches first HD-DVD re-writer for notebooks!
Toshiba announced couple of days back it’s first notebook HD-DVD re-writer will soon be at your nearest gadgets store. As of Monday, Toshiba sheds some light over the SD-L912A HD-DVD burner which rewrites at just 1x, coupled up with support for mainstream formats like DVDs and CD ROMs.
Besides the ability to store huge amount of data on just a single optical disk with an added advantage to rewrite makes it a much better combination considering economics. As estimate a dual HD-DVD disk stores in about 30 GB and takes about 2hours of recording and half the amount for a 15GB disc.
Thou its prowess is burning massive amounts of data. It 12.7mm high body still snuggly firs in most regular notebooks. Expected OEM partners samples will come in around July, besides this no price or availability disclosure.
