Seagate Launches 1TB HDD

Not soon after Hitachi & Samsung launched 1TB, Seagate launches its range of 1TB version Barracuda 7200.11 & Barracuda ES.2. It has four platters which Seagate claims to work in as low as 8 watts when idle & 11.6 watts when load, with 27-29 decibels its quite enough as the HDD’s we are using now.
Theres a feature called Rotational Vibration Feed Forward (RVFF) newly designed to sustain performance in densely-packed multi-drive systems. Also it has 32MB of L2 buffer & can sustain 105MB/s data rate, and the ES.2 version claims to boost the reliability which is 10 times better than the one we use. You can expect these to be shipped by this quarter & the price will be $399 with five year warranty.
