Google Desktop is something really good for a computer. It helps us search the desktop just like Google searches the whole world. It’s a desktop search application that provides full text search over your email, computer files, music, photos, chats and web pages that you’ve viewed.

But its features don’t end in just providing a search facility for you computer. It has a lot of other features too. The best thing I liked was its sidebar, which seems to be inspired by Vista’s sidebar but is great. It has a lot of ‘gadgets’ that can be added which include RSS reader,your new email, weather and stock information, personalized news and many more. It is not even much complicated. Sidebar is personalized automatically, without any manual configuration required.

Google Desktop puts your information easily within your reach and frees you from having to manually organize your files, emails and bookmarks. It makes searching your computer as easy as searching the web with Google.
