Lock A Folder Without Using Any Special Software

This trick does same thing that most of the softwares do, like a software called ‘Folder Lock’ works in the same way as this trick. When you use that software it actually make it as control panel icon & when clicked you will be taken to control panel, this trick does the same only difference is you will have to create two BAT files one for locking it & other for unclocking. Just follow these stepsÂ

1. Suppose you have a folder named ‘temp’ say in D:\temp
2. Now open notepad & type ren temp temp.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} and save it as ‘lock.bat’ (or you can name it anything) in the same drive next to the folder, but save as .bat extension.
3. Now open a notepad to create another notepad file and type ren temp.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} temp
5. Save this as ‘unlock.bat’ or with any other file name with an extension “.bat”
6. Now there are two batch files. Double click ‘lock.bat’ and your folder will change into Control Panel and its contents cannot be viewed
7. To open the folder double click ‘unlock.bat’ and you get back your original folder .

NOTE: For more safety keep those two .bat files in another location & probably make it hidden. Only for unlocking/locking copy paste to the original location and double click.Â
