How to add and remove unnecessary features and services in Windows Vista
Microsoft latest operating system Windows Vista comes with many bells and whistles. But mostly aren’t that necessary or total useless features. But you can always turn off some of them just to speed it up. Here is a brief walkthrough that guide you through the process.
- Lets first get started by opening your Control Panel. Now select Uninstall a program from the Programs section.
- In the left down column, select Turn Windows features on or off.
- As you could see there are lots of features and services which you can disable by removing the check mark from any feature. Just to make sure whats the feature about hover your mouse over each item for a slightly more detailed explanation of that feature.

- To expand a list, select the small + (plus sign) next to it.

- Remove the check mark from any of the items you’re sure you don’t need. Firstly i”ll remove Tablet PC Optional Components since I don’t have a Tablet PC, and I don’t have any hopes of getting a Tablet in the near future. So off it goes. This is just an example if you are using a Tablet PC you could use them.

- Off goes Windows Meeting Space.

- Next up is Windows Dreamscene Preview
- When you’re done, click OK. And wait for a minute or two until the progress bar disappears.
- Windows Vista might ask you to restart the computer so that the required changes will be implemented in the system, so click Restart Now. You can always reverse any of the changes you made if you decide you do want to use Windows Meeting Space or some other service.

Vista itself is unnecessary ;)
Easiest fix: go back to XP…
