Recently GPS systems have been in the buzz. But mostly the high-end version of these tracking devices seems to be still out consumers. LandAirSea Systems renowned name in GPS tracking technologies brings this pocket-sized device named as the GPS Tracking Key. But hey! This isn’t your ordinary GPS trackers. It receives signals from 24 Department of Defense satellites orbiting the earth.![]()
It is just slightly bigger then a cigarette lighter & works on two AAA batteries. Being water proof you don’t need to worry about it getting malfunctioned, so you can easily place it underneath a car, truck even humans etc. Also the powerful magnet won’t let it fall of from any place you stick it….but make sure its iron….ha ha.
According to LandAirSea its systems are equipped to track the location of the GPS tracking device within 2.5 meters. GPS Tracking Key comes with the necessary software that enables you to plot your way-points onto Google Earth. The tracking data can be downloaded and view in Google Earth simply by plugging the Tracking Key into a free USB port of a computer. Its battery life ranges from 2 week (2-hour use per day) to 3 to 4-weeks (1-hour use per day).

If you are still not convinced you can check out the long list of FAQ before you invest in it. I almost forgot there’s a sample report file where it’s shown the approximate street address for each location which is a cool thing. Also it was recently in the news for solving a murder case.
Only thing you need to do is buy it, you’ll never have to pay any monthly cost for the service…Wow that’s cool!

So has anybody actually used one yet? I notice the battery life mentions two hours of use a day- is it motion activated or do you have to turn it on and off?

You know, they don’t advertise it but I bet a fair amount of their business comes from “concerned spouses”… :)
