Installing Mac OSX Leopard on your Intel PC.

Installing Mac OSX Leopard on your Intel PC.

Thanks to skilled hackers or I should say geeks! Leopard comes to your PC. Well it happens because the latest patched Leopard DVD comes with the amazing PC-EFI built in. For all those novices out there, PC-EFI allows users to enjoy OS X on normal PC’s without compromising on features or future updates.

With the EFI patch, the hackintosh can boot off “vanilla” (unmodified) OS X kernel and use vanilla kexts, which gives a more clean room and great peace of mind for future system updates.

To Know more about PC-EFI visit the OSX86 Wiki.

But before you proceed with the installations you need to have this following requirements.

  • Non Core Intel Processors, no PC-EFI for you.
  • Core Based Processors, for PC-EFI to work.
  • AMD processors are not supported at this time.

Ok now, lets proceed with the installation :

Installing Leopard

  • First up you need to download the Installation ISO from Mininova. All you need to go to Mininova and search for word “iATKOS v1.0i”. The download is around 2.09 GB.
  • Burn the ISO to a DVD using some burning software like Nero. Make sure the write speeds are little slow it may show some errors if done on high speeds.
  • Pop in the DVD and boot into it from BIOS and follow the Onscreen Instructions.
  • Now select your Packages, which ever you need.
  • Installation might take about an hour or so, you can grab your console or take your girlfriend for a quick date downtown.

I’m hoping Leopard will eventually get patched up for AMD cpu. If it comes in future you’d be the first to know.

I guess it was the previous version of OSX that I was going to try a while back. It was supported by AMD processors, however it said if your proc doesn’t include something called SSE2 (i think it was) that it would run slowly and also needed an extra patch for some apps to work at all. I just wanted to mess around with it for a little bit – not use it as my actual OS – so it seemed like it wasn’t worth it. I hope they get this straightened out to where it will work on my machine without hassles.

More tha a year since I heard of pc-efi, I have to yet find a download site for it.
I am not an irc user. Never used it in my life.
So, without a download web link to pc-efi, all these writeups have not helped me install osx on my laptop.

    @Armando
By clicking F8 or something in the BIOS to go into the boot menu, selecting the OS Installation place (then select the partition).

Hi there, I’m having a problem installing iAtkos 5i on my PC. Can you tell me what are the patches that I need for my PC? Here’s my PC spec:

    CPU: Intel Dual Core E2200 2.2Ghz – Instructions sets: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, EM64T

    DDR2: 3072MBytes – Channel #: 2 – DC Mode: Symetric

    Mainbord: Intel P35/G33/G31 – Southbridge: 82801GB (ICH7/R) – LPCIO: IT7818

    Graphics: Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family – Chip type: Intel(R) GMA 3100 – Display Memory: 286 MB

Sound Device: VIA High Definition Audio

Network Adapters: Atheros L2 Fast Ethernet 10/100Base-T Controller

    DVD Rewritable

I tried installing it for the 3rd time. It wouldn’t allow the DVD to boot up, my PC always restarted. But when I tried hitting “cpus=1 -v” it worked and I was able to install the iAtkos DVD. The first time I installed it, I had a problem for restarting my PC for the first time, I hit “-v” it would go on and suddenly it wouldn’t continue (seems my PC is not responding) I also tried to hit enter upon booting, the apple logo would appear and there’s rotating thing and it would stop then there’s an error message that says “you need to restart your PC” with different translation. I booted my PC again and tried to hit “cpus=1 -x” it would pass the apple logo then suddenly appeared the gray screen” then it would stop. I tried all the commands but still unsuccessful. Tried to reinstall again and now I got kernet panic. Any help?
