I don’t like the way bananas smell. Can I use other fruits or vegetables. I was thinking that pineapples or coconut as they are tropical fruits also. My friend used a piece of raw prime rib to cover scratches in his bumper – I guess this works on the same principle.

well you can try those but don’t shout at me if they make the case even worst.

  11. January 8th, 2008 at 00:42 | #11

well i used the banana trick as instructed and placed it on my window ledge and a damn monkey came and stole it and ate it!! don’t do this if you live near a zoo!
lol only kidding i used this on my glossy laptop case before i sold it and like you described it came up like new!

    thanks dude

  12. January 8th, 2008 at 00:46 | #12

Thanks for scaring the bee jesus out of me! Well its great to know even you were successful. Only if our commentator >Blade< is successful i’ll be pretty happy.

  13. January 9th, 2008 at 06:53 | #13

It totally didnt work for me! Maybe the front was a little bit improved but it really didnt work! Maybe the banana wasnt good enough! :(

I think the reason that it doesn’t work on the later generation ipods is because they changes the cover. If you have, say, a first and second generation ipod nano, you can see and feel the difference. So I don’t think the same principle applies.

I am so happy to have found this video, but I haven’t tried it yet. I have a few questions.
-How does it work? It doesn’t make sense to me.
-Will it smell like bananas afterwards?
-Do the results stay the same?

To Jake: Yeah I had a 2nd generation ipod nano and it didn’t work.

wow that’s really awesome hah, i haven’t tried it but i know it works. hmm this should be on the news or something, it’s very helpful! thanks a lot man!

ooh by the way: you can also use a banana peel to clean fake leafs off of indoor plants and stuff. you know? when they get dusty and whatnot.

You guys know that a scratch is permanent damage, right? You can try to conceal some scratches (the shallower ones), but you won’t repair it. Deeper scratches will still be evident. Unless you paint over it or something. For something that’s meant to last a few years or more, there will be scratches. Oh yes.

  21. January 22nd, 2008 at 12:35 | #21

i dont think that will work on scratches..

Apple isn’t updating the 2nd gen iPods with the pro-banana casing fix. Sorry, you’ll need to buy a new iPod…or maybe use Chiquita instead.

  27. February 5th, 2008 at 22:48 | #27

Excellent – gonna try it tonight and if it works, you’re going on my blog!

Didn’t work on my 60 GB iPod at all. :( It’s one of the newer ones with the larger screen for video. Anybody have luck with a similar iPod? I tried it twice with no lucky.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work with my iPod Classic (80GB, if that matters). Glad to see it works with other people, but I was disappointed it didn’t with mine. :( I’ll just eat my banana now, lol.
