How to Install iPhone apps on your Jailbroken iPod Touch

iPod Touch is one of the most fascinating gadget out there, maybe not as close to its big brother iPhone. But still manages to give my heart a skip. Maybe in a couple of months I can make few bucks and grab it somewhere in ebay.

Anyways i wanna show you how to install different third party iPhone applications on your iPod Touch.

Install iPhone apps on iPod Touch

Installing applications on iPod touch is quite a piece of cake assuming that you have already jailbroken your iPod Touch. A jailbroken iPod Touch lets you really jazz up your iPod Touch with multitude of apps. If you haven’t jailbroken your iPod Touch, in coming days I’ll show you how to jail break iPod Touch.

Now to get the iPhone apps on your iPod Touch, just follow these steps:

  1. Launch installer.app (installer application) from the home menu of your iPod Touch
  2. Now go to ‘Sources’, click ‘Edit’
  3. Now tap on ‘Add’ and add repository ‘http://repo.us.to’ and tap OK.
  4. Tap done and then tap refresh.
  5. Now in ‘Install’ menu you will get two new categories: iPhone 1.1.1 Apps for iTouch and iPhone 1.1.2 Apps for iTouch. Before installation of ‘Mail’ or any apps you must install the ‘Prep’ package in the same category.
  6. After you’ve installed all of the iPhone packages/apps, then press the home button on your iPod so that it can reboot.

If you having trouble following the tutorial you can check out this video shows how to install the apps.

    you have to jailbreak it to get the apps… what would be the purpose of jailbreaking it if you could just get the same apps from the store?
    when you jailbreak your ipod you can add a larger variety of apps, change the themes, and really open up your ipod to a whole new variety of things. and you can still get apps from the store and put them on your ipod so long as you dont restore your ipod it will work fine

    @tim
    Lol, you tard. The apps aren’t free, jailbreaking just means you can install homebrew apps… and illegally install downloaded apps.

    Jailbreaking your Iphone or Ipod Touch allows you to install apps like Cydia Or Icy. These apps are like installers for other apps that can do things a normal Iphone cant. I got my 3G Iphone to record videos, use SIM cards of other service providers and customize themes. These are features that no app store app will provide because apple wont allow it.

    There are many more interesting things that you can do.
    Getting Cydia or Icy is the first step after jail breaking the device.
