    @egarayblas

    Damn, how did you install the firmware, did u update directly from itunes or used the restore, please restore the iphone firmware instead of updating, that maybe the problem, this is the link to ziphone 2.5

    http://thepiratebay.org/tor/4070734/ZiPhone_2.5c

  2. July 12th, 2008 at 06:54 | #2

    @Maile if you having any concerns please use iLiberty instead of ziphone, ziphone sometimes has issues, just like egarayblas is having.

    @egarayblas try unlocking using iLIberty.!

  3. July 12th, 2008 at 08:24 | #3

    Yes I used restore from iTunes and browsed the 1.1.4 firmware manually. I also tried Ziphone 2.5c and it didn’t work as well. Thanks for the link though.

    My iPhone’s still a brick so I’m researching on how to unlock using iLiberty now and I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for the help!

  4. July 12th, 2008 at 10:31 | #4

    Okay I just tried unlocking using iLiberty (I used v1.3 since I couldn’t find 1.2 anymore) and still no go. I still get the error message: Fixed Number Dialing Active and I still can’t use my iPhone to make/receive calls or send/receive SMS. Any other ideas?

  5. July 12th, 2008 at 12:12 | #5

    @egarayblas

    strange, many of our readers have successfully unlocked, it. Did you tried the iLiberty Packages, i think there are some packages, for these specific problem.

  6. July 12th, 2008 at 12:16 | #6

    @egarayblas

    I think this problem is related to the sim Card, please try a new sim card of your current service provider or borrow from your friend.

    Could you give me the direct link to the tutorial on how to use iLiberty? The link on this site didn’t work.

    Thanks again!

  9. July 13th, 2008 at 12:28 | #10

    @miata

    Why don’t you try the iLiberty instead of Ziphone.

  10. July 13th, 2008 at 20:54 | #11

    @pranjal

    I was able to make it work by restoring my iPhone first to 1.1.2, updating to 1.1.4 then jailbreaking, activating and unlocking using Ziphone 3.0. It was a tedious process, but my iPhone’s great now! Thanks for all the help! :)

  11. July 13th, 2008 at 21:26 | #12

    Thank you again for all of you help. I’ve been educating myself on unlocking and have learned a lot. The link worked. Have you had experience with Pwnage? From what I can read it seems the safest method. What’s your thoughts?

    I recently acquired a used iphone(2g) which was upgraded to 2.0 I have tmobile so I needed to jailbreak and unlock. I restored to 1.1.4, and used itunes 7.5 ziphone. I went through the whole process but I can’t get a cell signal. I have tried several times, with ziphone, pwnage and ilberty. I am a similiar issue as egarayblas with the no cell signal. Does anyone have a link to 1.1.2 I am thinking of trying the same method egarayblas tried. Thanks

  15. July 16th, 2008 at 04:58 | #16

    @Garfield

    Did you get any error message after jailbreaking/unlocking? I suggest trying a different SIM card first and see if it gets a signal.

    @Pranjal

    Yeah it was a tedious process but I learned a lot! Thanks! :)

    @Garfield

    I accidentally upgraded my iphone to 2.0 then downgraded back to 1.1.4 then did Ziphone jailbreak.
    Result:
    Everything worked BUT,
    I had no cell signal.

    I finally got it working and wanted to share this fix with you and others who have been having this problem.

    This is exactly what I did:
    But first you will need these files/program:

    1. Ziphone 3.0 program

    2. Ziphone Firmware Files 1.1.2, AND 1.1.4. To get these files open Ziphone 3.0 then Click Help and Support, then middle box on top of page Web Links Firmware Files 1.1.2 and 1.1.4 (to make it easier to find I always save everything to the desktop)

    3. Kiphone http://www.iclarified.com/entry/comments.php?page=1&enid=1536#commentsanchor

    Not sure if all these steps are needed for success, I am just putting it all down because this is exactly what I did to get my cell signal back.

    First, I uninstalled itunes 7.7.

    Then I downloaded and installed itunes 7.5. At this point you will have to rename your itunes libray folder. Instructions are here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1504

    Next I downgraded the iphone to 1.1.2 using the link above.
    Downgrading steps:
    Connect phone to computer
    Open Ziphone 3.0
    Click on Prepare for Upgrade (this will put iphone into DFU mode)
    Now you have to restore using itunes 7.5 (which will open up as soon as the iphone goes into DFU mode.)
    In itunes hold down SHIFT key (FOR WINDOWS) while pressing RESTORE. This will allow you to browse for the firmware file 1.1.2 you previously downloaded. Click on the 1.1.2 restore file and hit OPEN. This will begin the restoring process.
    You will probably get an error code noting the restore wasn’t successful. Ignore this unless the error code number is in the 1600’s.
    After this I tried to jailbreak my iphone using Ziphone 3.0 but wassn’t successful so I:
    Repeated the resore process but his time restoring to 1.1.4. Got the same error saying that restore wasn’t successful, which I ignored.
    Then I closed itunes, went into Ziphone 3.0 (iphone still connected to computer) and clicked on Do it all!
    Jailbreak worked fine except I still had no cell signal.

    To fix this I went to:
    Iclarified, (the BEST iphone website *******!!) Got Kiphone patch (see Number 3 above) installed it as per instruction (follow link above) and got my cell service back.
    I thought I bricked my iphone, or at best had turn it into an ipod touch. BIG THANKS go to kIREmK. You are a beast!!!

    Hi I just got an iphone 2.0 off ebay…how do i downgrade to 1.1.4 to unlock it?

    PLEASE..any help would be appreciated

    July 17th, 2008 at 19:40 | #19

    Ahmed
    Please read my post above yours (#119) for instructions on how to downgrade from 2.0. If you are felling lucky, skip the 1.12 downgrade and go straight to 1.1.4. I did do it that way but ended with no cell signal. If you do skip 1.1.2 downgrade and jailbreak with complete success, please post to let us know. Good Luck!

    Just wanted to say thanks for all your help. I ended up using Pwnage and it worked perfectly on my iPhone 16GB. I had no problems with any of it and it was easier than I thought. In less than 10 minutes, I was using my iPhone with T-Mobile sim card and surfing the web with my wifi. I will probably use and recommend Pwnage since it’s the safest method and it really worked well. Even if I’ve had success with Ziphone previously, I will now use Pwnage with any future unlocking/jailbreaking. There are too many problems I see associated with Ziphone.

    Thanks again for all your help. This is one of the most helpful blogs.

    You again screw up the whole thing, if you have updated to iphone 2.0 firmware then you can again jailbreak and unlock if its the old gen phone, which is the 2G version, 3g version you only can jailbreak it. Please check our site for firmware 2.0 tutorials

    Hi everybody, I just used zipone to unlock my ipod touch. Everything was working perfectly until my safari and youtube won’t work.

    So here I am trying to unlock my touch with iLiberty. My question is, since I’ve unlocked my touch earlier with ziphone can I still do it with iLiberty? What boxes would I need to mark/check on the standard tab in iLiberty? You can e-mail me on little.nellnell@yahoo.com.

    Thanks a bunch!

    Hi all, Zibri works fine for me, thanks. But I want to ask, I can’t seem to remove the Zibri icon from my springboard. I tried the holding down method, but it doesn’t wobble and no X appears. My itouch is kinda old, possibly the first few to come out. Its got very few applications compared to many others. Like no stocks and all that. Is it because its too old, and is there any way to delete icons off the main screen?

    Thanks. Would appreciate some help!

    I tried to use Ziphone to fix my already unlocked 2g iphone after a failed upgrade to the 2.2 software. I followed the directions for a unlocked iphone (unchecking all the options under advanced tab and then running the software), but it didnt work and now only gives me a screen with an itunes logo and a plug. my itunes also gives me the error message about an invalid sim card. I tried running ziphone a few times first with “do it all”, then with jailbreak and activate, and lastly with jailbreak only but none of these worked. Everytime I just got a message from itunes about restoing facotory settings.
    Is there anyway to help remedy this?

    Ok so here is my problem. I bought an unlocked and jailbroken 8giphone with 1.1.4 software.The iphone was unlocked and jailbroken with ziphone. The only thing i can tell is wrong with the phone is the wifi will not work. It connects to wifi through my home network, but when i try to go to youtube it gives the message of “cannot connect to youtube”. when i try to go into safari it gives the message “safari cant open the page because it cant find the server. basically the wifi is saying connected but its not working. I even get the wifi symbol by the t-mobile bars. Please help with this because with out wifi i might as well use a regular phone. And that would kill me on the inside lol. Thx
