    hello @John Clarke

    You can straight away restore to the iPhone 1.1.4 firmware! but make sure you use the latest ziphone software. The 2.7 might have came in few more days. It has couple of fixes related to the Wifi, youtube and few other problem. I recommend waiting for few more days.

    PS: we have a caching system placed so it takes sometime for the comments to come. Round about 5 to 10 minutes depends on many things. Rest assured! after you clicked on the submit button your comment will always get registered. Thanks for being polite.

    Hi,

    at the moment i have a jailbroken 16gb iTouch v 1.1.4 and i have the installer icon there and ive been installing like crazy. 2 things –

    1 – the mail, weather, stocks, maps, notes icons are not displayed in the desktop. I use a “Category” application to lessen the amount of icons in the desktop. When i listed the icons to put in a specific category, there were the mail, weather, stocks, maps, notes icons in the list. but when i put them in the category and try to open, the iphone jsut exits immediately to desktop if i try loading them.

    2 – is there any easy way to store other data files (Ex docs) on the itouch just as there other ipods had the ability (like an external hd)

    Thanks a mill!!!

  10. April 3rd, 2008 at 17:33 | #10

    try this

    1. Open up Installer. Hold down your HOME BUTTON for 7 seconds until Installer quits.
    2. Re-open Installer and try to install your package again.
    3. IF you still encounter the error, hold down the HOME BUTTON for 7seconds again until Installer quits.
    4. Restart iPhone this time, & try again.

    thanks i dont know the answer to that but i can say “i did it all” the same way you did in the you tube video above. minus unchecking the first three advanced options and deleting the 3.9 broadband. but since then i’ve redone it a couple of times and i can now hear the other person just fine and they can hear me but the volumn isnt very loud i cant put the speaker phone on, my alarm doesnt work, (it vibrates) my ringer also only vibrates when the phone is on vibrate or ring, my speakerphone doesnt work.

    thanks in advance

    ok last thing itunes will not let me restore the iphone. after clicking restore a window pops up and say’s itunes is shuting down and microsoft will notify me if it finds a solution to the problem.

  16. April 6th, 2008 at 02:38 | #16

    @steven

    If you cant run the voicemail try this

    1. You need to first get your carrier’s voicemail number.
    2. Click on your iPhone’s phone button.
    3. Then click on the Keypad tab.
    4. You need to then add the following code: *5005*86*xxx#. Here xxx would be your voicemail number.
    5. After entering the code you tap call.
    6. This results in the code being set.
    7. Thats all, tap now on the voicemail button and it should automatically call your usual voicemail service.

  19. April 6th, 2008 at 11:27 | #19

    @steven

    You need to update the sources! try clicking on the refresh sources button.

    Have you downloaded the BSB subsystem and the Openssh, they are the utmost requirements.

    @rurue241 sorry for the late reply! I was kinda busy… actually you need to again do the jailbreak activation hack using the iLiberty tool. Try this is

Now the weird part. if i drive into a different area wifi is gone and so is the E. Basically the connection is intermittent unless i stay one spot. Im pretty sure i jailbroke it right throungh iliberty. So confused:\

    You should have done the hacking with the iLiberty tool, the ziphone has this basic problem, i just cant figure out how to fix that.

  33. May 3rd, 2008 at 11:47 | #33

    @max

    I love you guys so much for this!!!!

  37. May 17th, 2008 at 16:01 | #37

    @max It doesn’t matters, but for extra caution use your ATT sim instead of the other sim if u have it.

    Hi,

    I just unlocked my phone using ziphone 3.
    firmware was
    Everything works fine except for voicemail. When I click on the voicemail button, I get the following message:
    welcome to att voicemail. We need more information to direct your call to the appropriate vm mailbox. to leave a message, please dial the 10 digit phone number of the person you are trying to call. If you have a mailbox on this system please press #.

  40. Lauren
    June 19th, 2008 at 11:46 | #40

    firmware was 1.1.4

  41. June 19th, 2008 at 16:11 | #41

    @Lauren

    There’s nothing unusual, voice mail for iPhone is an ATT feature only, it will work only if u have a ATT sim, it wont work on other sims.

    Bad Luck

    and thank you

  45. July 9th, 2008 at 08:41 | #45

    @imorgy first download the firmware from

    http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net/content.info.apple.com/iPhone/061-4313.20080226.Sw39i/iPhone1,1_1.1.4_4A102_Restore.ipsw

    and the restore it(this firmware) via iTunes instead of directly updating.

    I successfully unlocked my iPhone using Ziphone. It was version 1.1.3. Everything is working fine…have no problems with anything so far. This was only last week. I since then have been reading a lot of blogs and I’m curious if I should unlock my husband’s iPhone with iLiberty+ instead of Ziphone. Although I’ve had NO problems with my phone, I’m concerned from reading about others who are having problems with Ziphone unlocked phones. Also about the permanent bootloader downgrade.

    What do you suggest…Ziphone or iLiberty for unlocking my husband’s new iphone?

    If you think iLiberty is better/safer, should I restore my already working phone and then re-unlock using iLiberty?

    I’m on 1.1.3…is it worth updating to 1.1.4?

    Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

    :)

    I’ve followed your steps and I now get an error message: “Fixed Number Dialing Active” and my iPhone does not have a signal after using Ziphone. I can’t make/receive calls or send SMS anymore. I tried my SIM card on another phone and its working fine. Can you please help? Thanks in advance!

  48. July 11th, 2008 at 21:03 | #48

    @Maile

    Hi Maile, good to hear it worked for you! I would recommend sticking to 1.1.3 instead of upgrade to 1.1.4. There’s no problem in using either ZiPhone or iLiberty both will work without any problems, my blog has a tutorial on unlocking using iLiberty. If you can wait for a day or two, i’ll write about upgrading and unlocking using the latest iPhone firmware 2.0. Good luck.

    @egarayblas

    Hi,
    egarayblas, i think you should re-try the unlocking, i think the unlocking didn’t went properly, with version are you using.

    July 12th, 2008 at 02:08 | #49

    Thank you so much for you quick reply. I know you said either Ziphone or iLiberty but should I be concerned about the permanent downgrade of my bootloader using Ziphone? Also, if I’ve used Ziphone before and then do an upgrade later and unlock again using iLiberty, do you think this will be a problem?

    Thanks again for your help.

  50. July 12th, 2008 at 06:14 | #50

    I tried it 4 times already using Ziphone 3.0 to no avail. My iPhone’s just an iPod Touch now. :( Do you think downgrading to 1.1.2 will make it work? Also, would you know how I can grab a copy of Ziphone 2.5c?
