Interestingly AT&T didn’t wanted VOIP over at iPhone, mainly because that would ruin their Visual Voicemail thing. Thanks to a company called Fring using the native app, it’s now possible to place and receive calls via your WiFi connection! To get this working you just need a jailbroken iPhone, Wi-FI access, and you’ll be able to call regular phones using either SkypeOut or SIP.
Besides the usual VOIP via Skype it lets you connect to various other chat apps like MSN Messenger, ICQ, GTalk, SIP, Yahoo, AIM, and Twitter! Yeah twitter.
