LaCie Little Big Disk Quadra: 1TB of mammoth storage

External drives have gradually become mainstream for many who aren’t comfortable with the puny storage capacity provided by the USB drives. LaCie’s Little Big Disk Quadra external drive might replace your standard internal hardrive with the 1TB of storage utilizing two 2.5-inch 500GB drives in a RAID 0 configuration . It can be plugged in using either eSATA/Firewire 800 (FireWire 400 compatible with included adaptor), and one USB 2.0 interface now thats universal connectivity. The Lacie weighs in at a little over 1.4 pounds and available now from LaCie direct and your local LaCie dealers for a steep $659.99.

Wow that price is a bit steep. You can get the 1tb disk for less than $200 now. 2 512gb disks would be even cheaper. There’s no way that enclosure is worth $400. What a scam!

Yes cosmo the price indeed is a bit steep but it’s not overpriced, and it’s not an enclosure, most external harddrive solution are really expensive specially these types where you can have it powere through Firewire without using external power cable…

The deal breaker is it’s not USB or eSATA bus powered..
