Unlock Your 3G iPhone with i-Smartphone

Thou software unlock is still looks agonizingly far away, guys over over at Brando came up with a simple hardware unlock solution for you 3G iPhone, that doesn’t even requires you to scratch your sim!

Unlock Your 3G iPhone with i-Smartphone

The i-Smartphone is a simple wrap up on to your SIM card solution, all you need to do is stick the i-Smartphone onto the SIM card you want to use and house it to your 3G iPhone.

It is designed so neatly you don’t even have to cut an inch to fit, like those Turbo sims that came for previous gen iPhones.

The i-Smartphone Unlock Clip for iPhone 3G is available to buy online for $20.50 from Brando.

    This thing doesn’t work.

In old model iPhones, you are still required to Activate the phone through iTunes before it will accept the SIM card. iTunes tells you this is an invalid SIM.

In the 3G iPhone, the Brando SIM will not physically fit into the phone; even when notching your SIM card.

    $20 wasted.

    Guys

I can confirm with 100% certainty that the iSmartphone 2008 does not work with either the 3G iPhone or the 2G.

The vendors who re branded under various names are now trying to convince you that there is a version 2.0 of the hack out and that this works. The new version does not require you to clip the card. I have not tried it but wrote to the UK vendor who sold me their version 1.0 and no response.

    This is definetly a scam.

I would be weary of comments on this blog that claim it worked. Simply un true.

    @Trueblue

There is no way to confirm unless we have done anything with the software unlocks. I hope iphone dev team quickly launches a 3g soft Unlock, so this scammers don’t keep scamming innocent peoples.

I retract my earlier comment about this not working. It’s not an “easy” fit, it takes a bit of forcing to get the i-Smartphone into a 3G iPhone, but it does go in with a bit more pressure than you might at first be comfortable applying, and it did allow me to use an AT&T Pay As You Go card in my locked 3G phone. The same card would not work without the Brando card.

    Hi Guys,

I bought my Unlock sim at http://www.zulua.com and it wotks perfectly, i am with AT&T and managed to make it work with an italian and German sim card of friends who came to the headquarter in New York…. you may try it with http://www.zulua.com and also they sell it for about 17 bucks

the news is that they claim you don’t need to cut your SIM card. This is important to people that use multiple phones and multiple SIM cards.

This card is not just not working in my 3G iPhone. It is not working in any phone with any SIM – locked or unlocked. And I even bought two to make sure it is not just a one-time issue. What a waste of time and money.

    Hi

Guys don’t waste your money buying i-smartphone unlock that most sellers say unlock the Iphone 3g because it simply does not work. It works for a couple minutes then goes off and many times you’ll get a message that the sim card your using is invalid, or an error message and it can’t also syc with itunes

Stop waisting money on sim cards that can break your iphone , you should wait for the unlock software. Thanks for the info.

I’m in Canada, with a Fido locked 3G iPhone. I used the iSmartphone with my rogers sim(that i had 2 cut). It works perfectly for short periods of time then I lose reception. I turn the iPhone off for a night, try it again, and it works for like a day. WTF Is there some software version that needs to b on the iPhone?? Does it not work with rogers??
or is this iSmartphone chip just garbage?

  16. December 24th, 2008 at 11:15 | #16

@Oliver – Dude…. there will be a software unlock on the last day of this month…. JUST hold on and don’t buy any of this shit…
