Till now, people used to create ringtones for their iPhones using third party software or by wasting money on stupid downloads. Now, the story is different. With iTunes, you will be able to create free ringtones for your iPhone whether the song is DRM-free or not.

Create Free Ringtones For Your iPhone With iTunes

No need cash here. All you need is your favorite song on your computer. Here we go,

♦ Open iTunes and right click on the song you want as the ringtone. Click ‘Get Info’.

♦ In the options tab, enter the start time and stop time. It should be within 30 seconds.

♦ After that, right click on your new 30 second song and click, ‘Convert selection to AAC’. The song will be reencoded within the time limit you have specified.

♦ Once the process is over, go to your iTunes Music folder and paste the song on to your desktop. Delete the clipped song in your iTunes, not the desktop one.

♦ Right click and rename the song i.e change the extension from .m4a to .m4r

♦ Now double click the file and it will open under the ringtones section of iTunes. Just synchronize it with your iPhone and you are done!

So simple and you don’t have to use third party softwares now. Remember to uncheck the start and stop time on the original song. The procedure also works for the iPhone 3G with the latest firmware.

What do you think? Do you think you have a better method? Let us know.
