Gmail increases Maximum attachment size to 25MB

Now you can send large attachment files in gmail upto 25MB because Google has increased the attachment size from 20MB to 25MB. This is good news for the Gmail users, but if you have to send an email to your friend who is having another email account(with smaller attachment limit) other than gmail, then it is likely that the mail will not reach him and it will bounce back. So it is best for gmail users, as till now or better still you could invite your friend to using gmail.

Gmail users with the flash uploader will get an error pop-up if the file exceeds the 25MB size limit.

Files aren’t getting any smaller so its good to see large file transfer is getting easier. While it is great that Gmail now accepts 25MB attachments – you are correct in saying that this doesn’t help the person on the receiving end! Many companies are offloading large files from email altogether because it slows down email performance and drives up storage costs. Accellion is one of a number of managed file transfer solutions that solves the problem of sending large files regardless of the email system used.
