If you are using Windows 7, already familiar with the Aero Glass interface which requires a decent video card and probably your aged computer won’t be able to handle it. Well you need not worry if you disable it you can save enough horsepower to run the operating system.

Disabling Aero on Windows Vista

Just right-click on the desktop and choose Personalize. Click the “Window Color and Appearance” link.

Now head over to the next screen, and click the link near the bottom for “Open classic appearance properties for more color options”

Now to disable Aero altogether choose Windows Vista Basic

Disabling Aero for Windows 7

All you got to right-click onthe desktop and choose Personalize from the menu.

Now simply scroll the themes down until you see the Basic themes and select Windows 7.

Your computer should now be able to handle Windows 7 and Vista lot better.
