If you are using Windows 7, already familiar with the Aero Glass interface which requires a decent video card and probably your aged computer won’t be able to handle it. Well you need not worry if you disable it you can save enough horsepower to run the operating system.
Disabling Aero on Windows Vista
Just right-click on the desktop and choose Personalize. Click the “Window Color and Appearance” link.
Now head over to the next screen, and click the link near the bottom for “Open classic appearance properties for more color options”

Windows 7/ Vista if you already know has a system restore that lets you in an event of a failure of software installations, drivers and other updates to roll back to your previous stage. If you think you got a better plan or software to backup your computer, System restore is a waste of space.
Disable System Restore is a fairly easy task. But if you are really sure we can proceed.
Ok lets do it. First right-click on your Computer icon and select Properties.
Now click on the System Protection link on your left hand side.

Windows 7 is probably Microsoft’s best shot at making a user friendly and productive operating environment. Yet it missed out on few things that could have made it a lot easier and user friendly interface, just adding the Computer icon to the taskbar makes it so easily to access your folders.
But you always add the Computer menu as a folder to the taskbar here’s how you do it.
1. Right-click on the taskbar and choose the Toolbars menu, and then click on New Toolbar.
2. Now just find the folder or your Computer and the Select Folder.
