How To Install XP Mode In Windows 7
So that application of yours isn’t working on Windows 7 anymore while it used to work perfectly on your old OS Windows XP. To make these apps run on Windows 7, you need to install XP Mode.
XP Mode lets you run those apps while it itself runs in the background. The only hardware requirement for using XP mode is a computer with a processor that supports hardware-assisted virtualization such as the Intel VT , AMD VT etc.
First, install the XP Mode by downloading and also download and install the Windows Virtual PC. Then, setup the XP Virtual Machine and then select apps to run in the XP virtual machine.
1. After installation, reboot your computer. After that execute the Windows XP Mode setup and as seen from the image above, accept the license terms and click Next.
2. Next, specify the local password for the default user and type the password in the confirm password and click next.
3. Frequently update the XPM and therefore I recommend you switch the automatic updates on.
4. Next click Start Setup in the following dialog box. Your installation will begin now and it might take some time for configuring the Windows XP Virtual Machine.
5. After the installation is over, the Virtual PC will display Windows XP.
