How to Remove Windows.Old Folder in Windows 7 and Vista!

After upgrading to either Windows Vista or 7 you might have seen a strange Windows.Old folder getting created in your C drive and I’m sure many average guys won’t even touch but the fact that its eats up loads of disk space is pretty annoying. Thing is that when you upgrade from your previous Windows, the installation it makes sure you have have a backup in case you need it thus renaming the old windows folder as Windows.Old.

How to Remove ?

Removing this Windows.Old folder is fairly simple. Here’s an easy way to do it. Right click on your C drive or whichever drive your installed your new Windows on, now select Properties and then hit the Disk CleanUp button to launch the Disk CleanUp utility. You should be able to see a check-box for “Remove Previous Installation(s)” check it and then hit OK. It should take a minute or two cleanup all your old installation files.Now your C drive should be free of the Windows.Old folder and you’ll gain quite a large amount of disk space.
