Windows: How To Use Your Hard Disk As RAM
If you are the kind of guy who just does his office work that mainly involves sending/receiving/meddling with text files but suddenly faced up with a situation where you have to install a gargantuan application on your dusty old school PC, well its better if you know this tip. For heaven’s sake, its free and doesn’t cost anything.

Use you HDD Space for RAM:
1. Right click your My Computer and click Properties.
2. Click on the Advanced System Settings on the Left Panel of the Control Panel Dialog box.
3. In the newly opened up System Properties dialog box, Click the Advanced Tab and then click the settings button under the Performance section.
4. In the newly opened up Performance Dialog box, click on the Advanced Tab.
5. Under the Virtual Memory tab, click Change.
6. Now this is the most important part. Select the Partition/Drive where you have a lot of disk space.
7. Next select the ‘System Managed Size’ for the computer to take care of the doubtness in you or you can specify your own memory space. Specify the initial size and the maximum size. Be careful as too much usage can crash your Operating system. Also make sure No Paging file is unchecked as it causes system instability.
8. Click OK and restart your computer. Thats it! You should be able to see a considerable improvement in performance of your heavy apps.
