8 Awesome YouTube Embed URL Tricks

Probably the most visited video site on the internet, Youtube is still growing and what with 108op resolutions videos and uploads of more than 10MB possible now, it’s only a matter of time before all the others bow to it. After all, Google owns all.

8 Awesome YouTube Embed URL Tricks

1. Embedding High Quality Videos – If you want to embed high quality videos its not possible by just pasting the code, you have to append &ap=%2526fmt%3D18 for 480×270 resolution and &ap=%2526fmt%3D22 for the 1280×720 resolution.

2. Hiding the Search Box In Embedded Videos – This happens whenever you hover your mouse over the embedded video and can get irritative at times. You can hide this search box by appending &showsearch=0 to the embed URL.

3. Autoplay Feature – When you click a Youtube Video URL, after the page loads you have to click the Play button to get it started. You can autoplay by appending &autoplay=1 to the embedded URL.

4. Disabling Related Videos – This feature can be nifty at times when you disable it especially for bloggers who don’t want their traffic to be diverted away from their site. Clicking on related videos takes you to the Youtube page which when done, 99% chances are that the user won’t return to your page again. Just add &rel=0 to the embedded URL code and done!

5. Dowload HD Videos Off Youtube – Although there are many options to download videos off Youtube, there are none to download HD videos. Navigate to KeepHD to download HD videos off Youtube.

6. Jump Time On A Video – You can start from a particular minute and second in a Youtube video instead of waiting for the interesting part to come along. Just add #t=XXmYYs where XX is the minute and YY is the seconds at the end of the URL.

7. Embedding Only A Part Of The Video – If its a long video and most of its crap except that particular time of the video, you can always embed only that part by adding &start=xxx to the embed URL where XXX represents seconds after which the video starts playing.

8. Enable Loop In The Video – You can replay the video without you clicking the play button again and again. Just add &loop=1 to the end of the embed URL to replay again and again.

Well thats all from me for now! Do you have any tricks/tips that deserve to be up here? Share it with us in our comments section.
