How To Open ODF Files In MS Word, Excel And Powerpoint
OpenOffice is one free software that is widely used but is not as popular as the Microsoft Office. So what if there is a situation you need to convert that ODF file of yours to a Microsoft Office file.

The OpenOffice developers Sun actually offer a plugin to open ODF files in the Microsoft Office suite format. Lets get started:
1. First register yourself with the Sun website and after that navigate to the ODF Plugin For Microsoft Office page.
2. Login when asked to or Register if you still haven’t registered yourself.
3. Check the Sun ODF Plugin 3.1 for Microsoft Office and click the Download Selected with the Sun download manager.
4. A License dialog box will open up. Click I Accept.
5. Now a Set Options and Proxies dialog box should show up. Select the download destination. Select your preferable choices in the following fields and click OK.
6. Now click the Start button to start downloading.
7. After your download finishes, execute the file from the directory. Click Next.
8. Next select the directory where to unpack the file. This is not the main file, its just folder that contains the installation file so choose a place where you can delete it after using it to avoid wastage of disk space. Now click Unpack.
9. Click Next and check I accept the terms of the License Agreement and then click Next.
10. The default drive to be installed is C:\Program Files or select the folder where you install your OpenOffice plugins.
11. After confirming everything, click Install and thats it. You’re done. You will now be able to OpenOffice files in MS Office Word, Excel or Powerpoint. This plugins works on all versions of MS Office after 2000.
