Using Google Docs Like A Pro

Google Docs is one featherweight champion when it comes to Document editors and creators. It might be light and its simplicity can deceive cause there are more stuff you can do with it than you think.

Using Google Docs Like A Pro

Use Templates wherever possible:

Google Docs offers a variety of templates for quick document creation. You can create business cards, resumes, invoices etc in a jiffy. Don’t like the default ones or don’t find the apt one for your work? No worries. You can also check out user created templates at Google Docs Public Templates.

Backup Files At Google Docs

You can backup your document files at Google Docs by uploading it. You can also upload other filetypes at Google Docs for backup. Google Docs is one reliable place to upload your stuff online. For free users, its 1GB maximum upload. You have to buy some more space if you want to upload more.

View Searched Documents Via Google Docs

You can view documents that appear in Search via Google Docs. Those PDF files you get after search can be also be viewed in Google Docs. There’s a Quick View option pertaining to that. Unfortunately, MS Office Files need a plugin to be viewed that way. If you are using Firefox, download the plugin here. For Chrome, click here. Next time you search, you will see a Import as a Google Doc option there.

Polls and Statistics

Google Docs also allows you to post polls. Like I said before, there are templates to create polls, questionnaires and other registration forms available in plenty. You can also track the visitor and other stats of your pages using your Google Analytics account. Just paste the code from your Analytics account to Google Docs by clicking Settings > Editing.
