No Newton for the Xbox 360
May 15th, 2008
Man, this is seriously going out of proportions. I think Microsoft likes to deny anything that would make them a clown in front of other people (companies). More than a month ago, speculations about a wiimote lookalike for the Xbox 360 was hot on the loose and some even called it as Newton (no offense there, Isaac ). But unfortunately (and as usual) Microsoft has denied any projects of such sort.
Microsoft famous for its ‘wait and see’ method could have gained some momentum with its 360 sales if the above project had been carried on.

Xbox 360 slim version in 2009 ?
May 13th, 2008
First the Xbox 360 Blu ray and now this. After the recent announcement of Jasper 65nm as the successor to the current Falcon 65 nm CPU for the Xbox 360, there is wide speculation about the release of Xbox 540 in the year 2009. The difference between the Falcon 360s and the Jasper 360s would be that the GPU size in Jasper is smaller compared to Falcon, which brings us back to the topic : Will this lead to slimmer Xbox 360s?

Microsoft denies Xbox 360 blu ray rumors yet again
May 7th, 2008
Microsoft for what appears to be the umpteenth time has denied that they will roll out their Xbox 360 with a BD (hate calling blu-ray BD, but hey get used to it). After the recent blu-ray rumors , Microsoft has delivered a message that says, ‘Put a sock in it’. Speaking to GamePro, Microsoft disclosed that they have no plans on introducing a blu-ray to the Xbox 360 console. There you go folks, as clear as water.

In a statement received by GamePro via email, Microsoft states that

I reckon this thing will make your television stand hold a label reading ‘Jackass’. This one is purely for Nintendo Wii. Licensed by Nintendo, this Wii stand can accomodate all your Wii franchise including Wii titles. According to jonas_mofos’s shop, Nintendo has stopped producing these stands and are now a rarity. Made of ‘Shiny white wood’, this stand requires no assembly and is hassle free.

Being 36 inches taller, it makes your living room more attractive as its gloss and white wood. Already at the time of looking at this product, there were 6 bidders and for a starting price of $51 (excluding shipment charges) this is a real bargain if the love of your life is Wii. Why don’t we just say its sugar, spice and everything ‘Wiis’.
Need help with Liberty City? Use the Google map app!

Google maps for the real world? Yes. Virtual world ? w00t ?! That was my reaction after I discovered this map at IGN. Apparently, people can get ‘lost’ even in virtual worlds. Even after the minimap in the game, the GPS and escort functionality of some vehicles, we still need this. Why? Its because we are either dumb to read between the ‘map features’ or just love to roam around in the virtual world and end up wasting time without going about the assigned mission.

Now a backup generator on your wrist
May 3rd, 2008
Its often irritating that when you are on your DS or PSP, you suddenly observe that the battery is low . And still more irritating is the fact that you can’t continue with your gameplay with a bunch of ordinary batteries. This wrist ‘generator’ might change things a little bit. Thanko’s Rare Mono shop ( a home for the most exciting add-ons for day to day gadgets) has the wrist bracelet that can act as a backup generator for you PSP or the Nintendo DS.

Man, I love rumors. It just gets everyone excited especially if the rumor is on something important. Even after the repeated denials by Microsoft, people are still getting the buzz from here and there. Check out this recent one. The Chinese language newspaper Economic Daily News carried out this news about Pegatron technology acquiring orders from Microsoft of assembling the Xbox 360 with a Blu-ray drive. Pegatron technology is an OEM subsidiary of Asustek computers.
