Microsoft confirms Vista SP1 Release Candidate coming next week!

Microsoft has officially confirmed that a Release Candidate of Vista SP1 (build 6001.17052.071129-2315) will be available for download next week, but they haven’t mentioned the exact date maybe for some curiosity.
Sources say it should be on Tuesday , December 11th which is likely to happen as it coincides with Microsoft’s Patch Tuesday. Today MSDN and TechNet subscribers will be able to download Vista SP1 RC , yesterday Microsoft Connect had the chance to grab it.

HD DVD Exclusive Deal With Paramount And DreamWorks For $150 million USD

According to The New York Times, the HD DVD exclusive deal made with Paramount and DreamWorks was valued at $150 million USD. The decision by Paramount and DreamWorks to go HD DVD exclusive had delivered a big blow to Blu-ray.
Director Michael Bay reacted to this on his website saying, “I want people to see my movies in the best formats possible. For them to deny people who have Blu-ray sucks.â€
Looks like HD DVD may have won this latest round in the high definition wars but BluRay has not completely lost yet.
Vista Service Pack 1 doing rounds in webspace!

Word on the street is that, more and more individuals are claiming that they are testing out Vista’s Service Pack 1 pre-beta. The reported 6001.16549 build” sounds more then just photoshopping or typos ” and could be the version that’s Microsoft is actually giving out to the beta testers. Anyways we won’t get to hear anything from Microsoft sooner. But chances are that the Vista SP1 might get leaked out just as “Vista Performance and Reliability Pack” found its the way to the net. So fellows readers if by chance you stumble by the beta Vista SP1! speak out your story.
FireFox 2.0.0.5 Released

Mozilla released 2.0.0.5 version of FireFox on yesterday, they have fixed the following issues
- XPCNativeWrapper pollution
- Unauthorized access to wyciwyg:// documents
- Remote code execution by launching Firefox from Internet Explorer
- File type confusion due to %00 in name
- Privilege escallation using an event handler attached to an element not in the document
- Frame spoofing while window is loading
- XSS using addEventListener and setTimeout
- Crashes with evidence of memory corruption
