VLC player is my favorite media player not just because its a free, open source alternative to WMP or other alternatives, but due the fact that it supports almost all audio or video files out there. But the problem is that it doesn’t always work correctly on Windows Vista.
Normally you would face problem with some video extensions. But with some small tweaks, I’m sure it will work in most cases.

For all those novices out there, PC-EFI allows users to enjoy OS X on normal PC’s without compromising on features or future updates.
With the EFI patch, the hackintosh can boot off “vanilla” (unmodified) OS X kernel and use vanilla kexts, which gives a more clean room and great peace of mind for future system updates.

You might have encounter Windows completely freezing not letting you even open the start menu to restart. Doing a hard reset isn’t good for your PC components especially the hard drive. Here’s how you could restart your PC without having to do severe damage to your PC.
You can bring up Task Manager using the following keys:
- Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and click on Task Manager
- Hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc to bring up Task Manager
Once the Task Manager pops up, you could either restart or shutdown a hung process from the process list, or you could click on Shutdown> Restart to restart the computer.

As you would probably know Expose is an application for Mac OSX which lets you quickly tile windows and with a flick of a key you could go to your desired window. But hey could we do that with Windows Vista too….. Yes! you can. With a cool application named Switcher your life could be little easier.
Switcher lets you select between three views firstly, default tiled view that Mac purists are accustomed to.
Next up is the Dock view that is more like a switching between tiles in a parallel manner on the top of the desktop. All you need is to hit the tab key to switch between windows.

Ever wondered if its possible to hide a particular disk drive (disk partition) that houses your important documents that you don’t want to expose. Hell…yeah! you can hide them. Windows Xp has a simple utility that does just that.
- Go to Start > Run > Type “diskpart”
- after a command prompt window comes type in “list volume“.
- Now for example you wanna hide C, then type “select volume 2“
- Now type “remove letter C” (most cases it works instantly, but sometimes restart may be required)
