Google Chrome Is Available Now! Looks Impressive

Google Chrome just released just 30 minutes back i guess( while i was writing). Actually I was holly shit when Google announced that they where making there own open source browse, considering Google has been supporting Firefox for quite a while now.

Google Chrome is based on the WebKit engine and by the initial 5 minutes with the browser, its pretty awesome considering it just a beta. Good thing is that the browser runs separate processes per TAB to ensure security and stability. This way if one of the tab crashes accidentally, it won’t influence your work in other tabs. While running multiple tabs each tab was consuming about 6 to 10mb depending on the website content, flashier websites tend to consume more ram.

Multiple Versions of IE on same PC

As you would know I’m the owner, webmaster and everything of www.thinktechno.com. Most of my free time goes to optimizing the website and other things. Optimizing in a sense I try to fix the problems associated with fastening, code cleaning, and checking the website with multiple website.

Problem is that almost all the versions of Firefox have no problems rendering my website, even opera does exceptionally well. But Internet explorer always gives me headaches. Remove the Built-In Search Bar on IE 7

February 4th, 2008

If you are already using Google or Yahoo Toolbar you probably won’t want to use the built-in search box in Internet Explorer 7. There’s a quick registry fix that you can do to enable / disable this.

Open up Notepad and copy the following and save it to something “IE7_NoSearchBar.reg”. Then merge it into the registry by double clicking it.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Infodelivery\Restrictions]
“NoSearchBox”=dword:00000001

To disable copy this following code and save. After that merge it to the registry.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Infodelivery\Restrictions]
“NoSearchBox”=dword:00000000

Enable More Simultaneous Downloads in Internet Explorer

January 22nd, 2008

Most of us are accustomed to using Internet Explorer and i’m sure you’d probably fed up of the download restrictions of only 2 files from the same website. With a simple registry hack you can supercharge IE to download more then 2 files.

Manual Registry Hack

Open regedit.exe through the start menu search or run box, and then browse down to the following key:
